Alicja has been Director of the British Council in Kraków since July 2001. She holds a Masters degree in sports science and an MBA from Oxford Brookes University. She joined the British Council in 1996 as the local manager of the British Government’s Know How Fund project for management development. Before joining the British Council she worked for an International Trade Fair Centre in Krakow as well as spent a year in Boston, USA working for the Polish-American Chamber of Commerce. Alicja manages and develops the British Council’s operations in Krakow working in cross-sector areas which include education, arts, science, English. She leads on managing partner and institutional relationships in Krakow and the region as well as is actively developing networks of internal and external contacts to extend influence and secure achievement of business objectives. She is a native of Kraków, spent most of life here and she knows the realities of the local market well.
