SoftServe

Taras Kytsmey is the Co-founder and Board member of SoftServe, a Ukraine-based provider of offshore software development, testing and technology consulting outsourcing services with development facilities in Ukraine and sales offices in Massachusetts, California, Florida, and Utah, USA.

Taras founded Softserve in 1993 in Lwów when still a a post–graduate student of Lwów National Ivan Franko University. Supported by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Incubator Center, the company started with 3 people. SoftServe has grown to more than 2500 professionals on staff, becoming one of the largest software development companies in Central and Eastern Europe.

Taras Kytsmey graduated from the Applied Mathematics Faculty of Lviv National Ivan Franko University and obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a thesis in Fuzzy Database Systems. From 1992-2002, he worked as a professor at the Lwów National Polytechnic University. He is also a Founding Member of IT Ukraine, the industry body of the IT industry in the Ukraine, and has served as President of the association.

Softserve

SoftServe delivers software development, quality control and testing services, business analysis, user experience design, application assessment and optimization, software maintenance and technology consulting services.

The company is headquartered in Lwów, Ukraine and Fort Myers, Florida, while its development offices are located in the Ukrainian cities of Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Chernivtsi, and Sevastopol.

SoftServe University

A part of the company`s activity is focused on IT training and education: in 2006, the company launched SoftServe University – a corporate training Institution in Ukraine for improvement of developers’ knowledge and retraining of specialists. The University enables students and young specialists to advance their expertise and to receive vast technical experience as well as to obtain international IT Professional certificates.

Abiliton

In September 2009 SoftServe announced Abiliton – its methodology for software development lifecycle management. Abiliton consists of four components: People, Process, Tools and Communication and provides enterprises and independent software vendors with methodology for managing projects.
